ANA SAGGIORO GARCIA

PhD in International Relations from IRI/PUC-Rio and Master in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin (Germany). Professor at UFRRJ and former director of the BRICS Policy Center.

PAULO NOGUEIRA BATISTA JÚNIOR

Economist from PUC- Rio, master in Economic History from the London School of Economics. Former director of the IMF and former vice president of the New Development Bank. Currently a researcher at CEPAL.

EVANDRO MENEZES DE CARVALHO

PhD in International Law from the University of São Paulo (USP), Post-doctorate at the School of Government of Peking University (2023- 2024) and at the School of Law of the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (2013-2014) and Senior Specialist at the Center for BRICS at Fudan University (2014-2015). Professor at UFF and FGV.

JONNAS VASCONCELOS

PhD in Economic Law from University of São Paulo (USP). Professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) from both Law School and its Postgraduate Program in International Relations. Head of the BRICS Studies and Research Center at UFBA (NEPBRICS). Professor at the Postgraduate Program in Law, Governance, and Public Policy at the University of Salvador (UNIFACS). Research Fellow at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA).

ALI KADRI

Visiting Professor, School of International Studies, Sun Yat-sen University. TATIANA BERRINGER

Assistant Professor of Internacional Relations at UFABC. Author of Brazilian bourgeiosie and foreign policy. Current Special Advisor for Presidency Special Advisory.

ISABELA NOGUEIRA

Professor at the Institute of Economics and at the Graduate Programme on International Political Economy, both at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She is also coordinator of LabChina at the same University. She was formerly a Post-Doctoral Researcher and Lecturer at the Institute of Socioeconomics, University of Geneva (2012-2014), Visiting Lecturer at Aalto University in Helsinki (2011-13) and Visiting Researcher at Tsinghua University in Beijing (2009) and at the Institute of Social and Economic Studies in Maputo (2013). She has alsoworked as Executive Coordinator at the China-Brazil Business Council in Rio de Janeiro (2004-06) and as Project Coordinator at ImpactConsulting in Helsinki (2011-12). Professor Nogueira conducts research inthe fields of socioeconomic development and political economy, having published mainly on Chinese socioeconomic development, class formation, inequalities and public policies.

LUCIANA ACIOLY

Graduated in economics, PhD in economics from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) and post-doctorate from the University of Cambridge, in the United Kingdom. She joined Ipea in 1998, where she worked in the Directorate of Macroeconomic Studies and Policies and as director of International Studies. A planning and research technician at the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea), she took over as president of the Regional Economic Council of the Federal District (Corecon-DF).

CLARA HOLANDA CAVALCANTE

Bachelor of Law by the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and Post-Graduate student in Labour Law by the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUC/PR). Researcher on sustainable development and just transitions.

ANDREA CALIFANO

PhD in Economics and Social Sciences from the Scuola Universitaria Superiore IUSS Pavia together with the Scuola Superiore SantAnna Pisa in Italy. Master’s degree in International Economics from the Università di Pavia (Italy). Degree in Political Science and International Relations at the Università di Trento (Italy). He is currently a visiting professor at UFBA.

EMÍLIO MENDONÇA

Phd in international law (USP), master in international law (USP), bachelor in law (FDSBC) and in international relations (FSA). Researcher at the Centre for BRICS Studies of University of Sao Paulo (GEBRICS/USP).

FABIANO MIELNICZUK

PhD in International Relations from the Institute of International Relations of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He is a professor in the Department of Political Science and a permanent professor in the Postgraduate Program in International Strategic Studies at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, Porto Alegre). He was research coordinator at the BRICS Policy Center 2011-2013 (BPC, Rio de Janeiro) and is currently a researcher at NEBRICS/UFRGS.

JÚLIO CÉSAR LEAL

Lawyer and researcher. Holds an LLB from the Federal University of Bahia and is currently pursuing a master’s at the University of São Paulo, researching tensions between global governance and international law. Member of NEPBRICS-UFBA and CDI-IAB.

KUN ZHANG

Professor in department of history of Shanghai University, studied in Lanzhou University during 2004-2011, and got the doctor degree of world history from Shanghai University in 2015. With the National Scholarship Fund, he went to “Latin American Institute of Humanities and Economics” for a joint doctoral training which lasted fortwo years in Uruguay, and later studied and worked as a visiting scholar in the Argentine National Science and Technology Commission, University of Buenos Aires ,the Catholic University of Peru and Chile. Now his researching field includes the Latin American left movement and the history of Sino-Latin American relations during the Cold War.
